Tips To Prevent DVT or blood cloting to form from sitting (at home office, during flights, or train rides)
Most of us heared about this horrible syndrom called DVT (Deep vein thrombosis) which is usually caused by a blood clot in the legs.
This is one of the greatest risks to a person's health only from sitting for a long period of time and might even be life threatning.
gamers, programmers, musicians, who sit infront of a computer are at risk.
The first time i've heared about DVT was in a news article about a young 23 years old professional surfer who came back from a
surfing competition in Hawaii and got DVT during the long 14 hours flight from Hawaii to Israel, if this can happen to a young professional surfer.......
what could happen to a "couch potato" like me ??? this had put me in real panic and was one of the reasons i started my small reasearch about DVT
and above all : how to prevent DVT and reduce the risk of getting it.

Tips to Prevent DVT :
1) Do your best not to sit for more than 15 minutes, every 15 minutes you better get up and take a short 3 minutes walk.
2) Even when on a flight or on long bus\train rides, always try to find the time to stand up every 15 minutes and take a short walk every 30 minutes or so.
3) Maintain a healthy life style and include sport activities for around 5-6 times a week.
4) Build yourself a healthy vegetarian diet (rich with garlic and olive oil), Staying away from animal's saturated fats and margarine (margarine = the worst) which can harm your cardiovascular system, pay attention - your body do need some saturated fats (not too much of it), you can find those in large quantities in products like cocoa powder and in coconuts/coconut oil.
5) Eat a lot of fruits, fruits boost up your immune system and provides nice amounts of potassium which helps your overall heart health and blood circulation. fruits high in potassium - Apricots, Bannanas, Avocado, Oranges, Figs. while Red Grapes are optimal for the heart and arteries health due to its resveratrol content.
6) Cut down on your table salt consumption and reduce it to a minimum, a daily intake of sodium should be around 1-1.5 grams of sodium (sodium is around 40% the weight of NACL the substance which is an ordinary table salt).
7) EFAs which are Essential Fatty Acids, Omega 3 and Omega 6, it is important to feed the body with high quality EFAs, with a ratio of 1:2 - 1:4 Omega 3/6 as research shows this ratio to be the best for human consumption and health, a healthy being should consume around 6-15 grams of Omega 6 per day and at least 2 grams of Omega 3. Omega 3 plays an important role in brain cells health and heart health.
