The Benefits of Brewery's Yeast (and the joy of eating it).

INACTIVE* BREWER'S YEAST aka Baker's Yeast are are one of my favorite superfoods ,it's a great source for B complex vitamins and many other very important for brain functioning nutrients (list attached) ,Brewery's yeast is a strong antioxidant and a great source of chromium ,brewery's yeast is also great source for DNA\RNA ,actually its the cheapest (and the tastiest) source for RNA\DNA which means brewery's yeast contains all of the essential amino acids needed to build and repair tissues,bones,muscles,cartilage,several studies have found brewer’s yeast can lower the levels of LDL  (aka the bad cholesterol) not only that a raise in the HDL (aka the good cholesterol) have been reported,there are many more benefits but i dont want to do this post too long,mostly because i have 2 nice recipes for you, but before that lets continue with the technical stuff :

* most of the brewery's yeast sold is inactive but verify it before you buy just in case.

list of the vitamins and miners in Brewery's yeast :

protein, B Complex vitamins, nicotinic acid, folic acid, calcium, iron, phosphorous, magnesium, sodium, potassium, copper, zinc, selenium, chromium, manganese and amino acids such as tryptophan, isoleucine, threonine, leucine, methionine, lysine, cystine, tyrosine, phenylalanine, arginine, valine, alanine, histidine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid, proline, glycine and serine.

BREWER'S YEAST Side Effects & Safety

for healthy people Brewer's yeast is best when used in short term phases ,it might cause headache,stomach discomfort and gas ,

not enough are known for long term usage of Brewer's yeast ,i think the best is to stick with short term periods.

Special Precautions & Warnings:

pregnancy and breast feeding - not enough is known you better stay on the safe side and avoid any use of Brewer's yeast during pregnancy and during breast feeding.

Yeast allergy: there are reports by people who are allergic to yeast  that Brewer's yeast consumption causes itching and swelling

Colitis\Crohn’s disease:  Brewer's yeast might cause progression in Colitis\Crohn's sufferres.NEVER use brewer’s yeast.

general tip : since the high protein content it is recommended to consume Brewer's yeast before and after gym or other physical activity (30 min before and few min after are ok)

recipes (hamm hamm fooddddd) :

apart of eating raw brewery's yeast you can use it as a vegan replacement for parmesan cheese ! yes that's PERFECT and actually i find it even tastier ! and its a "good karma" food as well ,the second combination is to make a "Brewery's Yeast Past" which is made out of

4 spoons of brewer's yeast

1 crushed garlic

4.5 spoons of fine organic olive oil

1 tea spoon of balsamic vinegar

 

mix all the ingredients together in a small plat ,serve with small slices of crispy baguette ,this is TOP vegan italian dish !
