Reverse Osmosis - the perfect home system filtration
Todays market offers wide variety of home water treatment systems
i will not discuss about that brands ,i will discuss about the methods
There is 3 major factors which play a key rule when choosing a filtration systems
- the water quality in your area (high\low calcuim levels ,etc)
- if the water are fluorided\ non fluorided (each country and her policy)
- your budget budget
well ,i have good news and bad news ,the bad news are that if your area is fluorided
you dont really have a choice ,you MUST use Reverse osmosis system ,the fluoride the
municipal authorities add ,is not a the mineral fluoride which the dentists use ,its
a generic name for 300 different chemicals which mostly (depends on the state) are industry waist
(at least this is the case in my state ,the state of Israel) this is for the bad news
now for the good news ,the good news ,THERE IS A SOLUTION ,it called Revere osmosis
its not cheap (in my state small nice system cost approx 275$ u.s) its affordable for
most of the people i assume ,unless you want to buy mineral bottled water (glass bottles off course)
but then prepare to pay allot (bottled water in glass bottles coat fortune) so the most
reasonable solution is to buy this Reverse osmosis system ,the Do it yourself kits ,install it for yourself
or if you are not into D.I.Y you can buy the new "click clack" kits which are SO SO EASY to install
(see pic appendix a) this kit is also no mess to replace the filters ,but still
if you have the ability (and the funds) a regular classic Reverse osmosis system will be the best choice
i so like the taste of Reverse osmosis water...this is how water should taste ,so pure ,so tasty !
i even cock with those water

few words about other water treatment systems
as you know Reverse osmosis contains 5 filters (or 6 depends) most of the simple
home kits contains 2 or 3 filters (aka "Stages") they 1,2,3,4 filters are for relatively
big particles ,but the 5'th filter is the membrane element ,the heart of the system
and the most important part (pic b ,appendix c) this part removes the fluoride
the fluoride is so small molecule which only this 5.000.000 particles membrane
can filter it ,this is why its so important ,regular active carbon filters
can remove fluorine and chlorine (and many other ingredients) but not fluoride
how often should i replace my filters ?
in Reverse osmosis systems ,you should replace all filters expect the membrane
every 6 month (unless the device was barley in use) and the membrane every 2 years
off course it vary on the local water quality ,if the water in your area are very polluted (due to
industry pollution ,military industrys like in my case, etc) you will need to replace theme more often
what should i do if i want all the water in my house to be reverse osmosis filtered ?
its simple ,you need a "whole house Reverse osmosis system" ,very very recommended systems ,the only con
is the price ,last time i checked it starting from 3.5k up to 7k per system (+ replacement filters are not so cheap)
from time to time i see some offers about those systems ,please make a deep mafluorine rket research before you will buy
i have a family member who have it and he is highly satisfied ,soon i will buy one for myself as well !
few words about cooking and Reverse osmosis water
it is highly recommended to cock with Reverse osmosis water ,try make a risotto ,pasta ,coffee ,and you will feel the
difference ,by the way this is the reason that many restaurants have Reverse osmosis systems ,gourmet food must cooked
with pure water ,it affect the taste ,also patisiri and bakerys ,i remember once i were eating in some restaurant
some morrocan style cooked fish plate (lots of water in this dish) the chlorine after taste was HIGHLY noticable
also ,it happens to me all the time with cheap bakerys ! i really can feel it ,i have strong sense of taste
its amazing ,probably the levels of the chlorine here are exceeding the allowed standard
otherwise there is no scientific explanation to that
