Bee Pollen

The benefits of bee pollen have been known for years to famous athletes who take it regularly for strength, endurance, and vitality. This super food helps you cope with a variety of ailments, including allergies, energy spikes and drops, asthma, menstrual irregularities, diarrhea, anemia, low energy, cancer, rheumatism, arthritis, and toxic conditions. According to a Russian study (of the inhabitants of the province of Georgia), some people who lived to 100 or 150 years of age revealed that their diet included raw, unprocessed honey with all its "impurities" (i.e. the bee pollen). Bee pollen contains 22 amino acids (including the eight essential ones), 27 minerals, and the full gamut of vitamins, hormones, and fatty acids.

Most importantly, bee pollen contains more than 5,000 enzymes and coenzymes. It is these enzymes, some of which might have immediate detoxifying effects, that may provoke allergic reactions (especially with people who suffer from allergies) when bee pollen is taken for the first time. If this happens, start with very small amount and slowly increase it to a tablespoon or so per day.

Bee pollen is best when kept refrigerated. Try to get fresh bee pollen. If you can’t get the fresh version at a farm near you, get the regular, but only buy it from stores that keep it in a refrigerator. Try to avoid pollen that has been dried at temperatures higher than 130 degrees. While bee pollen may be found in powder, capsule, or tablet form, it’s best when in its raw form.

Consumption recommendation:

Some people love it mixed with honey. Me, personally I love the taste. It tastes like eating a field of flowers. I think that the best word that describe the taste of this stuff is "freedom". Some people may find it tastes a bit bitter in the beginning, but you will start to taste the unique aroma of the flowers after just a millisecond.
